Who Created the Doomsday Clock?

The Doomsday Clock was created in 1947 by artist Martyl Langsdorf for the cover of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, a magazine founded by Manhattan Project scientists who feared the consequences of nuclear weapons.

The Founders

Eugene Rabinowitch and Hyman Goldsmith, both Manhattan Project veterans, founded the Bulletin in 1945. Martyl Langsdorf set the original clock at 7 minutes to midnight.
